antonello joseph perez, aj for short...it took me awhile to ponder on why such a young age of 18 is gone...too soon, too quick, too painful for all of those who loved him. his demise is shocking that even me, not a fan anymore of teenybooper generation suddenly become too engrossed on this circumstance...i first heard it on tv, from a noontime news that a certain actor, died from a road accident on their way home from dagupan...i reviewed the latest issue of Yes! magazine where i remember new faces being introduced, and i was sure that aj perez was one of them....
i feel saddened...that this young handsome guy can no longer become a father, a grandfather in the future. his parents are the ones who are grieving the most... according to a blogger, when parents die you call the children left behind to be "orphans", when a wife dies, the husband becomes is called a "widower", when a husband dies, the wife is called a "widow" but when a child dies...no exact word or words will address the parents, for that's how painful it is that no exact word or words can describe the state of those left behind. there are so much questions on my mind...why too soon for this budding star? why did he die from that accident, the only one who was severely and fatally hit? they were aroung 4, 5 or 6 in the van, and he was the only one who suffered the most and killed...
as i reflect,i realized that anything can happen to anyone at any moment, life is too short...let us not be too consumed at being bitter at our life...for we only have today to live to the fullest, who knows, what in store for us tomorrow.
for aj's parents, the grieving process takes a lifetime, it may be raw at the moment but as days, months and years go by...the pain will linger and it will be part of you...the loss will not go away...you will live with it... how do i know? i lived and is living with the loss of a father for 30 years already...
