i am a loyal person, that's why when it comes to my favorites you can count on my continued patronage. first on the list are my favorite food :
food ...
lechon - i just love it. they say that it's not healthy and it causes a lot of diseases, what the heck! i may have inherited my father's taste buds, i love how it melts in my mouth, this lechon must come with a delicious sarsa, i prefer lydia's lechon. i remember being 8 months pregnant, i went with homar to a house blessing service, while the house blessing was on going, a whole lechon was brought and placed on the table, i did not go around anymore around with the congregation while the house blessing was taking place, i started to eat bits of the skin of the lechon until finally when it was already eating time, i had a full plate of it...when it was time to give birth my blood pressure is so high that i thought perhaps because of eating so much lechon.
balut - hmm i love it! zion my son love it too, i like the "balut sa puti" variety. whenever i buy balut (i am trying to avoid eating often) i ask the vendor if the sisiw is big, and they usually say "hindi maliit lang" then i go "gusto ko po malaki" the vendor usually change her statement and says hindi malaki talaga yan, akala ko kasi sosyal at nandidiri ka sa malaki na sisiw, ha ha ha sosyal?
chicharon - i like chicharon laman, and bulaklak (which i avoid to eat) because of it's too fatty content, but sometimes i give in and eat it especially when travelling alone. because i am a loyal fan, i already am friends with the chichiria saleslady in sta.lucia, i buy her chicharon whenever i commute and pass by at her stall.
gulay -i eat raw vegetables, i like green salads with vinigrette, i don't put in mayo ewwww. i also like boiled vegetables cooked in bagoong and water (we call it abraw in ilocano), i eat a lot of gulay to compensate my love for pig stuff.
beef - i like beef calderata, that creamy yummy blend of sweet, creamy and spicy taste, plus the tender beef. love it. the calderata must have these vital ingredients to call it caldereta, like reno liver spread, cheese and tomato sauce.
shrimp - i love shrimp whether big or small, whateve way it is cooked, basta shrim sya. love it love it.
braso de mercedes - i like it from red ribbon, that great tasting creamy and sweet yet soft and melts in your mouth thing. i remember i craved for it one summer time, and i just want to eat , homar and i drove in marikina but the branch ran out of stock so we have to go to another red ribbon branch until we found one, we bought two and doon pa lang sa car ubos na yung isang box.
KFC - the best way to eat fast food is to eat at KFC, i love the hot and crispy chicken the gravy, jollibbe and other chain tried to copy pero there is no other than KFC, i eat the hot and crispy chicken with coleslaw. zion likes KFC too, we do not get tired eating there, we don't order drinks with it to lessen the calorie intake and of course no drinks means lesser cost.
tropical hut's classic or double double burger - these burgers are the best burgers i have ever tasted, the patties are juicy and so delicious. unlike mcdonald's and jollibee oh so dry texture. although the cost is a bit much, but it's worth your money.
pineapple juice - i love the dole or delmonte brands, i drink it pure...it's healthy and has a lot fo fiber. i remember when i was a child in san nicolas, whenever there are occassions, they serve diluted pineapple juice and added sugar so that the delmonte juice in a big can can be served to a lot of people.
sushi - i like it's texture especially when it's rolled in seaweed, i also love that raw fish inside. i remember planning and eating at a japanese buffet in SM west, i saved up to it and went with homar just to satisfy my palate. i eat it with with soy sauce and wasabi.
i observe that i am not a healthy eater he he he, i eat more of the fatty side... i remember tatay used to eat this foods i like when i was a child. and tatay's appetite is the same as mine! no wonder (no longer have that sexy figure) i don't care. i am happy ! i love to eat!
